The Iris Festival of Suigo Sahara Ayame Park (水郷佐原あやめパーク あやめ祭り)

We went to "The Iris Festival" of "Suigo Sahara Ayame Park" in June 2018.



"Suigo Sahara Ayame Park" is located in Suigo Tsukuba National Park. "Suigo" is the japanese word which means "A village by the water." "Sahara" is the name of the village. "Ayame" is the japanese name of iris, a tall plant with long thin leaves and large purple, yellow, or white flowers. Park area is about 8 hectares. There are islands, bridges, ponds, waterways, etc. in the park. You can feel the emotions of old Japanese Suigo.
"The Ayame Festival" will be held in June every year. In the park, 1.5 million irises are in full bloom. There are 400 varieties irises such as Edo, Higo, Ise. Irises decorates all of the parks in many color.
